Then the wolves came.
They terrorized all, driving hunters out in droves and woodsmen to pick up their axes with anger, yet the creatures were elusive, targeting the weak and devastating poor families who had their young stripped away.
Eventually, even I had to get involved, laying down my flute given to me by my mother on my nameday, and grasped the axe giving to my by my father on the first day of our war against the trees. We cut lumber down by the league to expose the wolves, much to the elvish communities anger, achieving little.
It wasn't until my mentor, Sigismund, arrived and saw how I was torn between father and mother, and taught me his ways instead. He showed me how the wolves were led by a vile werewolf, and guided me into slaying the beast. Upon victory, he impressed upon me that the life of an Inquisitor is one of independence. Yes, I will have to stand up for those who cannot do so themselves, but I can also play my music from out of my father's disproachful glare, and express myself along the many roads I will pass on my travels.
