Breath Weapon: 1/rest Action to exhale destructive energy, shape and saving throw determined by ancestry. DC is 8+Con mod+proficiency. Damage is 2d6, half as much on successful save. Damage increases to 3d6 at 6th, 4d6 at 11th, and 5d6 at 16th.

Favored Enemy, Monstrosities: Advantage on Survival checks to track favored enemy, and Intelligence checks to recall info about them. Also learn a language of your favored enemy.

Natural Explorer: 2x proficiency when using an Intelligence or Wisdom check with a skill you're proficient in while navigating your favored terrain. When traveling in favored terrain, ignore difficult terrain, cannot become lost (except by magic), remain alert to danger when doing other activities, can move stealthily alone at a normal pace, find twice as much forage, learn exact number/size/time they passed when tracking.

Drynn is fiercely independent and guarded, preferring to keep her true thoughts and feelings hidden from others. She can be slow to trust, both because of her troubled past and her ongoing struggle with controlling her magic. While she doesn’t often display emotion, her inner turmoil rages like a constant flame. Loyal to those who earn her trust, Drynn will fight to protect the few who are close to her. The scar across her face serves as a symbol of strength, though she often feels like an outsider—too different to fully fit into any group, even the other elves or humans she encounters. Despite her internal struggles, she holds hope—that by mastering her magic, she can bring about a world where she can be her own person, unbound by the expectations placed upon her because of her dragon heritage.

Drynn Laidir is a female half-elf sorcerer, born to a mysterious fate shaped by both human and dragon blood. Raised by her mother, Elara, an elven healer, Drynn grew up on the fringes of a tranquil village near a vast wilderness. While Elara, a compassionate soul, could sense the power within her daughter, the source of Drynn’s magic was a constant mystery. Whispers suggested that her father was a red dragon, an ancient and mighty creature of fire. Drynn always knew there was something different about her—and as she grew, those differences became undeniable.

Her magical abilities manifested early, marked by fiery bursts of power, leaving her both awe-struck and terrified. Scales, faint at first, began to grow around her eyes, creating an almost otherworldly look, and her hair shimmered with the hue of burnished flame. Despite her mother's efforts to guide her, Drynn’s power was always erratic, and she struggled with the innate rage that seemed to accompany her abilities.

During an uncontrollable surge of magic, Drynn accidentally set fire to her childhood home. The flames spread quickly, and in the chaos, her mother, Elara, perished in the blaze. Amidst the devastation, Drynn spotted her mother's precious healing amulet lying among the ashes. Desperate to hold on to her only connection to her mother, Drynn reached for it. As her fingers brushed the amulet, a surge of draconic power sparked out of her, shooting across Drynn's face and leaving her scarred. She was partially blinded in her right eye and marked with a jagged scar. Despite surviving, she carries the weight of the power that nearly destroyed her—both a blessing and a curse. Her left eye, however, took on the characteristic fiery red hue of her draconic heritage. While the scar serves as a painful reminder of the destructive potential of her magic, it also symbolizes the dual nature of her identity: one eye filled with the fire of her ancestors, the other clouded with a permanent shadow of loss and pain.

The accident marked a turning point in Drynn's life. With her mother's passing and the growing instability of her magic, Drynn could no longer ignore the reality of her draconic bloodline. Desperately seeking control, she decided to leave her village, embarking on a journey to uncover more about her origins and find mastery over the magic that, while powerful, was also inherently dangerous.
