Actions
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d8+3) piercing damage.
Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d6+3) bludgeoning damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d12+3) slashing damage.
Charge. The drake charges 20 ft forward, hitting and knocking down any one in its way, if it is of the same or smaller size. Any creature in its way must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or take 14 (3d8+3), and become prone. If any creature succeed the Strength saving throw, take half damage, and the Spike Drake is stopped in front of the creature.
Spike armor. As the drake is covered in spikes, any creature that makes a physical attack with it will have to succeed the DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take (1d8+2). If any creature succeed the Constitution saving throw, take half damage.

They are much larger than regular horses, with an average weight of 4 tons and a length and height of a foot or two more than a horse. The spike drake's most notable feature is its thick hide, which acts as armor and protects the more vulnerable areas, such as its neck and belly, during combat.
Spike drakes reach maturity at just 1 month and have a lifespan of around 40 years. They are nomads and travel in groups called herds, which are led by an alpha drake. These herds tend to travel in packs, with the alpha drake being the strongest combatant among them. This position is constantly being challenged by new rivals, and the alpha must always be on alert to maintain its leadership status. Alpha drakes are distinguishable from other males as their skin turns blue, indicating their strength and status.
While non-alpha drakes are difficult to tame, it is possible to do so by either hatching and raising them or beating them in frontal combat. Once tamed, spike drakes are known for their incredible strength and loyalty. They are capable of pulling heavy carts filled with iron or breaking boulders, making them useful for heavy lifting and transportation.
