Keen Smell. The thylvestris has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
Keen Vision. The thylvestris has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Spider Climb. The thylvestris can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the thylvestris knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Web Walker. The thylvestris ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Grappler. The thylvestris has advantage on athletics checks made to grapple an opponent.
Silken Embrace. A target successfully grappled by a thylvestris is almost immediately wrapped within layers of spider silk. A small creature is nearly instantaneously rendered helpless, but every size category above small requires an additional turn of uninterrupted grappling to fully restrain. A creature larger than size large is immune to this effect. When fully restrained, a creature is rendered incapacitated and restrained. A creature wrapped in this manner automatically fails any contested grapple check. At the end of each of the creature's turns, they can make a DC 15 strength saving throw to break free of the bindings, though this does not break free of a grapple. Every turn spent grappled by a thylvestris after the first turn wrapped in this way sees the DC for the save increase by +2 every turn, with a maximum of DC 21.

Actions
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: (1d4+1) piercing damage plus (1d8+1) poison damage. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take the poison damage. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 30 minutes, even after regaining hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: (1d2+1) slashing damage.
Pounce (Recharge 4-6). If the thylvestris moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 14 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the thylvestris can make one grapple action against it as a bonus action.

Details
The mundane variant of the Thylvestris species, these creatures are about the size of a large dog, albiet with more legs, eyes, and larger teeth. This variant of the species serves an active threat to lone travelers if undomesticated, as an ambush can very quickly turn to a death sentence. This variant of Thylvestris is known for pouncing on prey double their size and swiftly rendering them defenseless with layers of strong silk. After their prey is immobilized, the Thylvestris use fangs upwards of five to eight inches in length to render the prey unconscious and ready for transport. Domesticated, these creatures serve as very effective guard animals, remaining quiet until the time comes to strike, then leaving the victim helpless.
