March 19 - Time to farm
The farmer start is here! In this mode you've got a little homestead just outside of town and focus on building up your homestead, growing crops, and raising animals. You don't spend all your time in towns, but nor do you spend it all scavenging in the wild. A nice mix.
To facilitate the farmer way of life, there are vendors now in town that will buy your stuff. If you grow a big batch of crops and want to quickly turn them into cash so you can buy more seeds and upgrades, you can speak to working villagers to quickly and easily sell all your goods. Vendors are only available during working hours (9-5 typically), have a limited budget that resets daily, and will buy your items at half their value. You still get bigger margins by selling items in your own shop, but vendors provide a way of quick liquidation of goods for cash. Useful for playstyles that have other things to focus on during the day. If you play with others, you may find merchant players are willing to offer you a better deal for your goods than the NPC shops.
There were some miscellaneous fixes and tweaks as always, including some new crop and item appearances. For instance, you can stack up all your metal bars in some sort of vault as a monument to your richness. Not that you'd do such a thing. I've also adjusted how factories work when starting cold. If you've got a campfire that's gone out for example, you'll need to use extra fuel to get it started again. It's based on the quality of the fuel, so it might require 5 sticks or only 2 logs. This means you'll always start with a nicely sized fire, and also incentivizes keeping your factories lit when doing a lot of crafting.

Most Recent - May 16 - fixin thangs (Alpha 03)
Got a bunch of good bug reports and feedback this week both through the forums and feedback form, and I've fixed or implemented most of them. Mostly small UI tweaks and graphical issues.
I also got click-to-move in, which makes it a lot more pleasant to place or pick things up. If you found the out of range stuff frustrating this should be helpful.
