Født en fattig halv-elver, uden kendskab til sin elver far, brugte Rolando sin uimodståelig charme, og virtuose instrumentale evner til at tjene til føden for ham og hans enlige mor.
Siden ung har Rolando spillet med i "Scalvadors Opera de Extravaganza", hvor han lærte at udfolde sine bardiske evner igennem hans tid i orkestergraven.
Han blev dog hurtig træt af at spille de samme forestillinger igen og igen, så Rolando drog på eventyr for selv at kreere sit eget mesterværk.
Nogle vil sige at Rolando er alt for nysgerrig. Han søger altid inspiration til sit mesterværk, ved at indsætte sig i andre folks samtaler så han kan høre hvad de snakker om, og høre de lokale historier.
Det er dog ikke alle der er lige glade for at han lytter med, så han er ofte endt i nogle mindre problemer med stædige og fulde bodega gæster.
